Hi buddies,
Hello from Boston! It’s actually pretty nice here. As a (kind of) native San Franciscan, all this brick is novel and charming. I’m spending the week playing cello for a puppet show and working on my live show from my hotel room:

tiny recommendations:
This conversation, between John Cage and Morton Feldman, which speaks to so much of what I’m thinking about right now. I’ve been doing a deeper dive into Cage’s work and am continually astonished by his insight, curiosity, and humility. May we all.
Buying unscented dish soap and adding essential oils. Bergamot dish soap! Sandalwood dish soap!
Agnes Varda’s Cleo from 5 to 7. What little of Varda I’ve seen is so incredible — she rewires my way of looking at things in the same way a good book does. I’m trying to work my way through the Criterion Collection’s Sight and Sound Critics Poll: the greatest films of all time (thanks, Steve), because I always wish I knew more about film but don’t know where to start.
Star Trek: Wrath of Khan. This is pre-Criterion decision. I’ve never watched any Star Trek. There’s a villain with bad hair who wears a knitted bolero.
Junior Mints Minis - I have never encountered these before. I had them at a rehearsal last week and they are the perfect ratio of mint to chocolate. Now I can’t find them in any Walgreens (I’ve been to three). Help.
Not a big reader last month but did love this article about amateur seismologists. Does anyone know artists who are working with this technology? And I’m starting next month’s reading with The Essential Writings of nun and poet Mother Maria Skobtsova, who sounds fascinating and inspiring.
Hope to see you soon!
